Gain-Things You should avoid

Assalamualaikum brothers and sisters. Here are some things, That you shouldn’t  do to your guitar or to Your tone

  1. Gain Is not a volume knob for amps.

So Gain is not a volume knob then what is it?

It selects the volume of signal from your guitar going in to your amp. so Do not use it Like a Volume Knob.

2. Do not add all the GAIN!

Am I out of my mind? ( I mean com’on! we all love gain ! and I need gain to sound , you know, MeeyyThaallll , right ? )

well, Gain is good. But too much of anything isnt good. Adding too much gain will saturate your tone, also It will bring up a lot of the noise. So you have adjust it to your needs, not more than what you need, or all the way up!

if you need more gain add it from the overdrive pedal, and there too, do not add a lot of drive.

3. Do not scoop/cut the Mids Completely

Who does nott like mid scooped brutal tones? Everyone loves em right?

But, When going through a full mix with keyboard , drums bass etc , it will be very quite in the mix, means it will not cut through the mix alright. and You cant just fix that by raising the volume.

This is a huge topic why it cant be done . just do not do it for the time being .

.

4. Do not Add a lot of low ends.

We all like a tone that has a big . “gum gum” sounding low ends.  When you are jamming alone, Its up to you, But When in a full band situation, Only use as much as needed.

too low much interferes with the Bass guitars and causes a problem.

Hope This helps 🙂

Good points made. Most beginners to even intermediate players underestimate the function of the volume knob. You can go from a simple overdriven tone to a soaring lead tone with proper use of the knob. Btw, I request you proofread an article before publishing as there are multiple spelling errors.
